The maturation phase is known to be the most boring ever, it would fill the well of life, observe colorful fish swim among the corals and instead we should look to limit rate un'ammasso more or less shapeless live rock that week after week is illuminated more and more waiting to get the agony photoperiod.
I've always been convinced, ever since my first marine aquarium experience that the month of darkness and the gradual increase of the photoperiod is a dogma that every aquarist should bend.
Even during my fourth layout I've followed to the letter, and despite not to photoperiod and is still less than sensational last-minute surprises, I must say that this road has paid off.
Currently, the photoperiod of Asdu is 7 hours, while increasing I have not seen, at least until now algal big explosions. When I started to give light on the chemistry of the water was already fairly, the pollutants contained within accettabilissimi levels, the only real value outside the lines concerned that the silicates at power were measured in 1.5 mg / l, a value which then was gradually decreased to 0.7 mg / l at the beginning of the fifth week.
In the middle of this I recorded a modest increase of diatoms mostly focused on the glass bottom and rocks in short took the characteristic brown color. In two days the value of silicate decreased until it became no longer measurable time and a few more days diatoms greeted my tank went away completely.
Currently the pool is now in its seventh week, then gets seven hours of light from the bulb HQI Plusrite (excellent bulb, especially if compared to the really ridiculous price) and I decided to award the first insertion.
The choice fell on such a wild blue Acropora Gomez, by his friend Marco that purchase of 2000 Aquarium of Castel Mella (Brescia), and inside houses also a nice crab symbiont.
The cutting is in the picture and within a week of introduction does not seem to have lost a significant color. The test is going well, Asdu is ready to receive other cuttings.
my choice for all cuttings will be introduced very small (like I always did before) I will avoid in no way whatsoever to enter and leave the mother colony during the development of this nature.
Meanwhile, enjoy this first taste of Asdu .... Stay tuned for photos of the next entries.
